Award-winning information design for the UK’s most revered financial institution
Bank of England
Banking information that’s fit for the modern era
In 2021 the Bank of England and the Financial Conduct Authority kicked off a programme to transform how data is collected from UK financial institutions.
The current information demands of both institutions place a heavy burden on banks, particularly start ups or smaller financial institutions. In addition, data collection is disjointed and confusing, resulting in large numbers of errors in statistical data which correspondingly undermines the quality of financial forecasting.
As the first user-centred content specialist recruited to the Bank of England in 2025, I was responsible for leading on the redesign of the bank’s statistical reporting information. With 112 PDF guidance documents running to over 1000 pages, there was substantial scope to dramatically streamline and simplify in this space.
Working with a user researcher and a visual designer, I developed content for a web-page template that consolidated important information in one place, structuring the information under clear headings with a logical flow.
Feedback on the new presentation was highly positive. A sample user quote was: “This statistical reporting landing page is hugely clear. We would like this for everything.”
"Nadia was critical to us delivering our fantastic new reporting landing pages.
She didn’t just deliver great content in a short period of time, she showed leadership too. She helped me think through strategy for how we should build and maintain our content capability in future.”

Recognition at the Central Banking Awards 2025
In March, the Bank of England won Initiative of the Year for this work at the prestigious Central Banking Awards. In the official press release, Angus Moir, Head of Data Transformation at the Bank of England, describes how the work has delivered a much better experience for banks without the high costs typically associated with transformation programmes. He said:
“If you work in innovation or change, I think it’s very easy for people to get caught up with the latest big things, whether that’s blockchain, artificial intelligence or the delivery of a big data platform. But sometimes the seemingly simple things, if done well, can also be incredibly transformative.”
